As an Army ROTC Cadet you can receive many benefits:

**These are just some of the benefits that you can earn as a Cadet. Speak to Cadets individually and you will find that each will tell you of much more personal benefits and gains that they have found in their development as Scholars, Athletes, and Leaders.**

  1. You will be a leader in an organization and profession that is consistently ranked as one of the most honorable professions in public opinion polls, as well as a part of a long military tradition here at the University of California, Berkeley that dates back over a century.
  2. You will receive world-class and highly-marketable leadership training found nowhere else that builds and enhances problem-solving skills and valuable personal and leadership attributes.
  3. You will learn to conceptualize and implement plans, manage and supervise activities, develop and refine communication techniques, and experience the dynamics of operating with peers and junior leaders in a group setting.
  4. You will receive a SECRET security clearance certification issued by The United States Department of Defense. A security clearance of this type would cost a civilian firm upwards of $100,000 to procure themselves and thus its possession is a highly-valuable asset to some employers.
  5. You will have access to our Cadet Lounge and high-speed internet computer workstations. You will also have access to a locker and shower facility in the Military Affairs Building on campus while you learn the principals of physical fitness.
  6. Aside from ROTC and Army Reserve Scholarships and stipends, you may be eligible for over 40 need-based and merit-based scholarships valued from $1,000 to $2,000 to help offset the cost of higher education.
  7. You will have a chance to volunteer for training at exciting, specialized schools during the summer that will test your personal courage and stamina and will enhance your military resume, not to mention your taste for adventure and accomplishment.
  8. You will create special bonds with other dedicated Cadets who are students like you, all the while in the midst of a highly-supportive Cadre staff.
  9. If you are interested in athletics, you will have access to the Army Departmental Sports Program. This program provides an opportunity for cadets to train and compete at the highest level their personal athletic skills allow.
  10. You will also be eligible for special military benefits to include; Military Airlift Travel (hop a ride to US or overseas locations for FREE); Morale Support (discounted tickets to Disneyland, Great America, etc.); The use of any military recreational facilities (like the Hale Koa resort in Hawaii, the Lake Tahoe Recreational facilities or facilities on Travis AFB and the Presidio of San Francisco for example); State sales tax exemption at all on-base facilities and shops.
