LTC Leland A. Liebe graduated with a Bachelor of Arts as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of West Florida. He holds a Master's Degree of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, DC, and a Master's Degree of Military Arts and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Mortar Platoon Leader Course, Airborne, Ranger, Pathfinder, and the Air Assault School. LTC Liebe later graduated from the Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Staff Service School, the Post Graduate Intelligence Program, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the NATO Staff Officer Course.

LTC Liebe began his career as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Rifle Company XO, and Headquarters Company XO in 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Upon transition to the Military Intelligence Corps, LTC Liebe served at Ft. Bragg as an 18th Airborne Corps G2 Plans Officer, Brigade S2, and Company Commander. He then served on the personal staff of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) as the Deputy Chief of the Pentagon Liaison Office during Operation ALLIED FORCE. Following schooling at Fort Leavenworth, LTC Liebe served at Ft. Hood with the 1st Cavalry Division as a G3 Plans Officer and later deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as the Battalion S3 of the 312th Military Intelligence Battalion and as the Division G2X, where he was responsible for coordinating human intelligence and interrogation operations throughout Multi-National Division - Baghdad. His next assignment was at Patch Barracks, Germany with the United States European Command (USEUCOM) and included service as the lead J3 planner for Sub-Saharan Africa and service as the lead J3 strategic planner for the AFRICOM Transition Team, responsible for the creation of the military's newest Geographical Combatant Command, United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM). His most recent assignment prior to the University of California, Berkeley, was as the Battalion Commander of the 205th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

LTC Liebe's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), Meritorious Service Medal (3), Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Ranger Tab and the German Parachutist Badge.

CPT BRENT BARNES

Captain Brent L. Barnes enlisted in the United States Navy on 18 August 1986 and completed recruit training, Nuclear Field MM A School and Nuclear Power School at NTC Orlando, FL. He then attended follow-on training at the Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) in Idaho Falls, ID and the Emergency Nuclear Propulsion Plant Welding School in San Diego, CA. In 1989, Captain Barnes reported for submarine duty on the USS Michigan (SSBN 727), where he served in the engineering division until his transfer to NPTU Idaho Falls as a prototype instructor. In 1995, he joined the Naval Reserves and served as a Barge Ferry Engineer in a Construction Battalion (SeaBee), small boat mechanic in a Mobile Dive and Salvage Unit and completed his enlistment while attending Basic Reserve Intelligence Training. Captain Barnes enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2001 and served as a Psychological Operations Specialist and Operations NCO with the 14th Psychological Operations Battalion prior to accepting a direct commission as an Intelligence Second Lieutenant in February of 2003. He served as the BN S2 and HHC, 14th POB Commander prior to being mobilized to the 8th POB at Ft. Bragg, NC. While with the 8th POB, Captain Barnes deployed as the J2 (forward), Joint PSYOP Task Force, Baghdad, Iraq. Upon return, he was assessed into the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program and served as the Defense Intelligence Agency as a Intelligence Operations Officer at the Joint Reserve Intelligence Center in Phoenix, AZ. He is currently the Exective Officer for the UC Berkeley ROTC program.

Captain Barnes earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Arizona State University (ASU) in August of 1997. He also holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from ASU. Captain Barnes' awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal- Navy, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/1 BS, GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ Bronze Hourglass and 2 M device. He is also authorized to wear the Submarine Warfare Device, SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in Gold.

MSG MICHAEL A. JUSINO

Senior Military Instructor

MSG Michael A. Jusino entered the Army in January 1994. He was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas where he served as a Bradley Gunner and Dismounted Team Leader in the 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalary Division. Upon completion of his two-year tour, he was assigned to the NCO Academy at Camp Jackson in Uijonbu, Korea serving as the training NCO and PLDC Instructor.

Next, MSG Jusino was assigned to the 25th Infantry Brigade Light, Fort Lewis, Washington where he served as a Light Infantry Team Leader; Anti-Armor Section Leader; Reconnaissance Squad Leader; Stryker Platoon Sergeant and S-3 Operations NCO. Following the completion of this tour of duty, MSG Jusino was assigned to Camp Casey Korea where he served as a Platoon Sergeant with the 1st Battion 503rd Air Assualt for seven months in Korea and 12 months in Operations Iraqi Freedom III & IV in Ramadi, Iraq. After redeployment from Iraq, he was assigned to Fort Carson Colorado and was assigned as a Company 1SG of B, C and D Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment (Manchu). During this assignment 1SG Jusino served an additional 15 months with the Manchu in Operation Iraqi Freedom V & VI, again in Ramadi.

Scholarship and Enrollement Officer

CPT Biji T. John graduated with a Bachelor of Science as a Distinguished Honor Graduate from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 2002. Upon graduation, he received his Regular Army Commission as a second lieutenant into the Active Duty as a Signal Officer. His military education includes the Signal Officer Basic Course, Air Assault School, the Master Fitness Trainer Course and the Rappel Master Course. CPT John later graduated from the Network Management and THSDN Node Course.

CPT John began his career as a Signal Nodal Platoon Leader, and Signal Company executive officer, in Alpha Company, 29th SIG BN, 144th SIG BDE located at Fort Lewis, Washington. During his time in this unit, he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for 13 months to include being responsible for the redeployment of the 29th SIG BN. Upon returning from the deployment he transitioned to the job of a STRYKER Infantry Battalion Signal Officer for the 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, which later reflagged to the 4th Battalion 9 Infantry Regiment, "Manchus". During his three year tenure with this unit, he helped field and eventually deploy the Land Warrior Ensemble for the Army during President Bush's Surge Operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from this 14 month deployment he was stationed at the University of California, Berkeley as the Scholarship and Enrollment Officer.

CPT John's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (one oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (three oak leaf clusters), Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, Overseas Service Ribbon (two oak leaf clusters), Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the German Proficiency Badge (Gold).

SSG Russell Kojo enlisted in the Army upon graduating from Alhambra High School in 1996 and completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training Infantry at FT. Benning, GA.

SSG Kojo has served in various Airborne and Special Operations units throughout the United States Army that include C Co 2-504, 82nd Airborne Divisions; HHC Scouts and Sniper Platoon 2-504, 82nd Airborne Division; 160th Long Range Surveillance Detachment, 40th Infantry Division California National Guard; HHC & 2-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, C Co 3rd Ranger Battalion; and Joint Special Operations Command. He has held leadership positions as Team Leader and Squad Leader.

SSG Kojo's military education includes the Basic Airborne Course, Pathfinder Course, Air Assault Course, Ranger School, Jungle Operations Training Course, Special Operations Training Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, and the Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Good Conduct Medal (with two knots), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with service star), Iraq Campaign Medal (with service star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral 2), and the Army Service Ribbon.
